Precautions with Jewelry

Postby innocent on Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:51 am

1) Always remove your jewelry before bathing and grooming.
2) Bring your jewelry to a qualified jeweler if you notice a loose stone setting, a moving stone, or any damage to your jewelry.
3) Do not wear your jewelry while doing rough work.
4) Hairspray, gel, body lotion, moisturizer, perfume, make-up, and soap are chemicals that can leave a residue on jewelry, creating a dull film that is very difficult to clean and remove. Thus there contact with the jewelry must be avoided
5) Always remove your jewelry when working with chlorine bleach as It can harm gold and silver jewerly as well.
6) Make sure to store your jewelry in a fabric lines cases or in a box with dividers or separate compartments. Jewelry pieces can be scratched when store together.

Also, it is good to take your pieces off before going to bed, so they will not bend. :D

This is excellent advice. I accidentally damaged an antique watch by washing dishes with it on :( Its so important to be careful with our precious things.

If a necklace gets knotted, it can be untangeled with a safety pin
