Thank you for the great information. I have been wanting to get some of my jewelry insured but was unsure about doing it. I have my homeowners insurance through USAA and they offer jewelry insurance also.

I have only bought once from QVC. It was a sapphire pendent. I haven't had it checked at a local jewelry store but the stone looks nice and I haven't had any complaints, yet.
