Welcome to the FancyCarat Fine Jewelry Forums! This is an online discussion board for both jewelry novices and connoisseurs alike to discuss designer jewelry.
I've never bought any jewelry on ebay and I probably won't. I like to try thing on before I buy them, and I'd be too woried about getting scammed out of money or being sent something fake.
Color, size, and shape are the most important in determining value. Dark colors like blue and black are more rare, so they are moe expensive. And pearls that are not compleetly round are worth less than those that are.
Platinum is stronger, but it is also heavier and more expensive. For gold, the higher the Kt, 24, 16, 10, etc. the softer it is because it is more pure. If you're buying gold, I would reccomend 14kt.
I would rather have something that is in the middle of both of them. Flawless carats are very hard to find, and most flaws are only noticeable from close up. But I wouldn't want one with any glaring marks.
Do you have one jewelry store that you just love? Mine is Helzberg, there is one at the mall close to my house. The people there are always nice and they have some beautiful things!
I don't think I would like to know where my diamonds are from. As lons as they are from a store with a lifetime guarantee, I'm good. I'd say it a don't ask, don't tell sort of thing.
What do you think? After a couple breaks up, who should get the ring? Was it a gift so the girl should keep it, or should she return it since she no longer want to marry him?
