I think its best to buy platinum because you dont need to repolish it as much.
Most of the white gold you see needs polishing every 2 years.
That can cost about $50 each time.

When you add it up, platinum is only $500 more.
In 20 years, you break even.
However, it is such a headache to keep going back to get it cleaned.
